VIS has been commissioned by NARUC, through USAID funding, to support the development of a regional electricity market in the Mekong Region. The project involves a review of current regulatory frameworks, a gap analysis, the formulation of proposals to address gaps and the development of a transition roadmap based on international best practices to support cross-border electricity trade and regional cooperation. VIS will work closely with regulatory authorities in Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Laos, to assist their transition from bilateral power trading to a more integrated regional power market.
