Phaedon Gkazianis
Phaedon Gkazianis is a
Manager, with an MSc in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Economics and
Natural Resources from Wageningen University. He has over 6 years
of consulting experience in the energy sector.
His work focuses on
energy market analysis, regulatory reform and financial and economic
assessments in the electricity, natural gas and district heating
sectors. He has contributed to a broad range of technical and strategic
advisory projects for private companies, government bodies, regulatory
authorities, international organizations, and development banks. These
engagements involved institutions such as the European Commission, the World
Bank, ACER, USAID and NARUC, and have spanned Europe, Africa, Middle East and
the NIS region.
Phaedon has participated
in the implementation of over 20 consulting projects, addressing regulatory
frameworks, tariff design, cost-benefit analysis, and financial assessments for
energy infrastructure. He was involved in a study for ACER on the implementation of
dynamic pricing, an assessment for DG Energy on revising the CACM
Regulation, and in a project providing advisory support to the Greek Regulatory
Authority on gas transmission tariffs and investment evaluations. Phaedon also
contributed to a study supporting the Government of Jordan in evaluating the
financial and socioeconomic benefits of its Smart Grid strategy, worked for
Malta’s Energy and Water Agency on electricity market unbundling and
deregulation, and provided technical assistance to the energy regulator in the
Democratic Republic of Congo on mini-grid tariff methodologies.
Phaedon has developed
financial and econometric models across various projects to support investment
appraisals and inform decision-making processes related to energy
infrastructure and regulation.
