Support to the Energy Regulatory Commission of North Macedonia for developing regulations relating to the operation of the gas transmission system

VIS was commissioned by NARUC, with USAID funding, to support the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) of the Republic of North Macedonia with the development of key elements of the natural gas transmission grid code, focusing on capacity allocation, congestion management, transmission tariffs and commercial balancing (methodology for imbalance charges, neutrality charges, a model balancing agreement). The documents were developed in compliance with the EC gas Network Codes and following the best practices applied by EU transmission system operators. Capacity building on the implementation of the balancing rules was provided to ERC and the gas TSO.
