As a partner in a World Bank-funded study led by Tetra Tech, VIS supported the Government of Jordan in developing a national Smart Grid Strategy. The project involved reviewing the current state of Jordan’s power networks, assessing the legal and regulatory framework, and identifying necessary updates to enable smart grid deployment. VIS contributed to the analysis of international best practices, the evaluation and prioritization of smart grid technologies, and the development of a cost-benefit analysis for different smart grid architecture options. The team also assessed existing cybersecurity measures and proposed enhancements to strengthen digital infrastructure. VIS specifically led the financial and economic modeling and advised on financing mechanisms to support smart grid implementation.
