Regulatory Support on Voltage Control Mechanisms – Support to Vietnam’s ERAV

VIS supported the Electricity Regulatory Authority of Vietnam (ERAV) in strengthening its oversight of voltage control on distribution circuits amid the growing integration of solar power. The project involved an in-depth analysis of Vietnam’s current technical and regulatory approach to voltage regulation, along with a review of international best practices. VIS examined monitoring and enforcement mechanisms used by distribution companies in Europe and elsewhere, including standards compliance and investment planning processes. An online workshop and targeted capacity building were delivered to ERAV staff, providing tailored recommendations to enhance Vietnam’s regulatory framework for voltage control.
